Over the past month, over 20 expats from around the world have started learning to code by joining the Guangzhou Learn to Code group. Each week, Elabify has helped lead a free class hosted in the Guangzhou Library’s “Maker Space.”
Students use Arduino kits to learn the basics of C++ and embedded microcontrollers with IoT sensors. None of the students have any formal background in coding, yet some of the students have already started studying javascript and python too! There is also a large interest in learning Solidity for blockchain development – so that may be a future course. In the coming months, we are also working to add Chinese instructors with a partnership from the Guangzhou Library to encourage local residents to join the fun.
